Frequently Asked Questions
What files should I send?
Please include all files, fonts, and images in a packaged folder as well as a hi-resolution PDF. In Adobe InDesign, go to File – Package. This will create a file folder that includes all assets used in your project. Please make sure all images are at least 300 DPI.
When designing in a programs such as Illustrator or Photoshop, please ignore this.
What color gamut should I used?
Graphic files should be delivered in CMYK mode. Please convert any PANTONE color to CMYK as well (if printing digital). Also, make sure all color saturation is under 300% total of all colors. Anything higher than this causes adhesion problems.
When picking spot colors, do not go by what you are seeing on your screen. Colors will usually appear more vibrant on the screen. Use a PANTONE swatch book to accurately pick colors.
Should I send spreads?
Please do not send printer spreads. When exporting the PDF, please be sure to click “Pages” instead of “Spreads.”
We will impose the pages and make a “position” proof for your approval.
How should I set my files up?
When setting up your file, make sure the project size is set to its final trim size.
All projects should bleed at least an 1/8th of an inch or .125 inches.
Do you spell check?
We will not spell check your file before we print it, so make sure you do so before hand.
How should I deliver my files?
We can use all types of transferable media such as USB, e-mail, and FTP. To sent files remotely by FTP, please contact Tru Color Litho for access.
